education.au roadshow sydney

Nancy Stanelis and Mark TF from education.au meeting with the guys at NSW Centre for Learning Innovation re the next steps for education.au.

It's been a long time since I attended a meeting with bureaucrats from institutions funded by two levels of gov. Seems like not much has changed - once you've learnt the workings of a silo its almost impossible to talk on a basis where the walls didn't exist. It was good to see Mark amd Nancy trying, although the sticking point - having reps from the silos at high tables like MCEETYA, etc is still the problem = no taxation, or responsibility in this case, without representation.

And certainly no collaboration. Every silo must reinvent "their" apps. And they are. Funny, especially when I had a quick chat with one of the CLI guys about "why not just linking between the places Mark and Nancy are flying between and having  chat?" (and keeping notes, and streaming, etc) You know, using the technology rather than talking about it. You just have to agree with what Garry is reporting. The gap widens.
