Speak My Language Student Led VC Conference

This week Mitchell Squires,Anne-Maree Moore and myself have been working hard to put together the Speak My Language wiki and resources.   The conference will run from 23-25th June 2009 but we hope to generate lots of learning experiences and discussions in the lead-up and beyond. The video below explains a little of what we hope to get out of the conference but a big part of it is what the students come up with.

Speak My Language from Macict on Vimeo.

This interactive video conference will be held over three days in June and will be presented by students for students from all across the state.  Students will be talking about a variety of innovative projects as well as discussing their ideas for using technology to support their education.

This is going to be a great conference, really focused on students maximising their learning experience.  With lots of opportunity for peer to peer interaction and discussion.

There are a number of ways you can participate in the conference:

Submit an Expression of Interest

  • join our team of student conference organisers and presenters
Contribute content to Speak My Language - Send us an email or link, write a blog post or make a video explaining:
  • Tell us about your interesting and innovative projects especially ones that have an Indigenous issues, student voice, collaborative or technology focus.
  • What are you doing now?
  • What possible futures can you imagine?

Tag it - Speak My Language

  • Video Conferenceing resources
  • Good examples of students using technology to raise awareness of Indigenous issues, use student voice, collaborate etc

Talk to us @ MacICT

  • If you have a collaborative student led project you would like assistance with contact us and we can try to link you with other schools or help you understand the tools to make it happen

Hi Concetta, What a great intorduction to what we're doing here! Thanks! I love the way you've created so many ways for people to get involved. You seem to have so many different online connections and ways of sharing information, I feel blown away! Anyway, I'm having a look at the diigo group now and maybe one day I'll start to catch up.... I really enjoyed your video - it was great for me to see how you modified it from the way it looked on my first viewing yesterday. Hope you get lots of interest in this terrific project.
