ICT Plan

Edublogs for your classblog for writing should work well. Paid to get the paid ads taken off until the Department provides something. Making and uploading a video of students working or student work is easy and their are a couple of options to do this. We will also set up a Wiki for 'Murder Under The Microscope' If we set it up under MacICT you get more space and no ads, so that might be the way to go. We should have a look at notification options on the wiki to see how students and teachers will keep up-to-date.

Write an About Page including uploading permission forms
Write a usage policy for your blog

Set up Wikispaces for MUM. Use wikispaces help.
10.30am Morning Tea
Set up Wikispaces for MUM.
Make a short movie in Movie Maker.
1.00pm Lunch
General discussion - options for embeding a video (eg Vimeo or Wikispaces)
Creating and embeding a 15 second movie or slideshow in your space.
3.00pm - Becoming part of the MacICT community

If you only really need parents to see the video at home Vimeo works nicely, if you need students to see them at school under their own logins then Wikispaces is better (but slower and more to learn). We will also set up a Wiki for 'Green Kids' or something catchy and generic. If we set it up under MacICT you get more space and no ads, so that might be the way to go. You can choose to keep the members of the project updated via email or another Edublogs blog as discussed.

Blae Friday Workshop Plan

Moodle for class management, posting homework and assignments. It's private, students need to log in and you can host a limited amount of media from within the space. Is also scalable so if you want to expand to work with other classes or create student blogs hosted at the school it's possible. If you would like students to show skills in a particular area on Digital Literacy or Design - get them to use Google Web page or video to present materials.
