Here are the activities for June and July:

World Oceans Day (8 June)
This interactive resource suitable for Secondary students requires learners to place continents, oceans, countries and cities in the correct position on the globe.

Against all odds is an online game suitable for Secondary students created by the United Nations Refugee Agency. The game allows learners to experience what it is like to be a refugee in various scenarios. A teacher's guide is provided.

2010 Australian Schools Calendar - April and May classroom activities

 

As promised, I will be linking new learning activities to calendar events that you may want to celebrate in your classroom. The activities for April and May are:

International Childrens' Book Day (2 April)
This project is a place for early years learners up to the age of 8 years to explore online books and share class thoughts and ideas.
New resources will be added to the project throughout 2010. Resources will be related to upcoming events, celebrations and themes.

World Health Day (7 April)
This game, suitable for upper secondary learners, presents players with a variety of situations where alcohol, peer pressure and unacceptable behaviour can have dangerous social and physical consequences unless responsible decisions are made.

2010 Australian Schools Calendar - Classroom Activities

Hello

Welcome to the new look Australian Schools Calendar.

 

You are now able to download one month at a time using the links at the bottom of the calendar page or can download the entire calendar.

Each month I will be linking new learning activities to calendar events that you may want to celebrate in your classroom. The activities for February and March are:

Chinese New Year: Year of the Tiger (14 February)
An online story and writing activity from the British Council to celebrate Chinese New Year.  The activity is suitable for Junior Primary learners.

International Mother Language Day (21 February)
An interactive resource which allows students to explore languages spoken around the world.  The resources is suitable for Middle Primary learners.

This project is a place for students to develop knowledge and understanding of the Pacific people and their cultures.
