The World Cup 2010 global project allows students to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2010 whilst also learning about some of the global issues facing South Africa and participating nations.
Students in the UK have recently been active in the project posting forum comments and creating online stories... Why not get your students involved too?!

World Oceans Day (8 June)
This
interactive resource suitable for Secondary students requires learners
to place continents, oceans, countries and cities in the correct
position on the globe.

World Refugee Day (20 June)
Against all odds is an online game suitable for Secondary students
created by the United Nations Refugee Agency. The game allows learners
to experience what it is like to be a refugee in various scenarios. A

This
resource allows Junior Primary students to learn about sound. The site

FIFA World Cup 2010 Online Project
A new online project has been created to allow students to
celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2010 whilst also learning about
some of the global issues facing South Africa and participating nations.
The project
includes online resources, printable activities and discussion forums.

2010 Australian Schools Calendar - April and May classroom activities
As promised, I will be linking new learning activities to calendar
events that you may want to celebrate in your classroom. The
activities for April and May are:
International
Childrens' Book Day (2 April)
This project is a place
for early years learners up to the age of 8 years to explore online
books and share class thoughts and ideas.
New resources will be
added to the project throughout 2010. Resources will be related to
upcoming events, celebrations and themes.

Day (7 April)
This game, suitable for upper secondary
learners, presents players with a variety of situations where alcohol,
