The Magic Toolbox
Introduction to tagging good practice with showme
One of the main motives for joining me.edu.au
is to find and to share good ideas and practice in using ICT in
education and training. We are promoting use of the tag
showme
as an identifier of good practical ideas in me.edu.au. Once a blog
entry, whiteboard entry or profile entry or Community link includes the
word
showme
, it can be found, courtesy of me.edu.au's amazing search function.
As the number of
showme
tags increases you can search on multiple terms like showme physics,
or showme literacy, or digital storytelling showme, and so on. Search
works on tags and on any word on the site, so as long as the term
showme
is used, it can be found.
What is a 'practical idea'
We are looking for:
- teaching and learning examples - what has worked
or not worked and
- introductions to new tools, applications techniques. The sort of advice that teachers, instructors and lecturers will call "good practical information".
The me.edu.au blog provides the most convenient forum to publish, but information can also be included in whiteboard entries and in links - which may point to blog entries that tell a more detailed story.
There is a range of very appealing mulitmedia formats that can now readily be embeded in the blog, like videos, slide shows and images. To find out more, search for showme!
