Where did me.edu.au come from ...

Many people have been asking about how me.edu.au came about.

Here is a bit more about where the ideas and innovation project came from and then developed in to what we now know as me.edu.au :

This particular project came from some innovation work completed at education.au on a proof of concept called - myedna. The team focused on the idea of "watch me learn: discover, express and share my learning journey". You can find out more about it at http://labs.edna.edu.au/myedna . This small project sought to address issues educators have managing life and learning online. As a part of this innovation work a prototype was developed and demonstrated how this could be done.

We receive funding from DEEWR to then take the ideas of this innovation project and get users and stakeholders involved to develop what is now me.edu.au. 

me.edu.au will have future development next financial year (July 08 - so not toooooo long to wait) within the edna project funding.  Once again we will be asking our user base in me.edu.au and stakeholders where we should be directing future developments - what is useful for you?  As a project team I know we have many ideas and already users have added ideas, suggestions and feedback in the me-edu-au community at: http://me.edu.au/c/me-edu-au.  Note: you do need to be a member of this community to contribute a posting. We are monitoring this and collecting ideas as they are added.  So please if you have ideas please contribute as it will help shape what me.edu.au will become in the future.

Mark TF also has a blog running on edna futures at: http://me.edu.au/b/marktf/ which he will keep everyone updated - this will include me.edu.au possible direction. There is also a community where you can provide strategic input into edna and me.edu.au's future directions at: http://me.edu.au/c/edna2010 (once again you must add this community as an interest to be able to contribute ideas.

I hope this gives everyone a bit of a look into the innovation work and process at education.au and edna.
