me.edu.au will officially launch today. This is an exciting time for the project team to finally see the hard work and vision released.
We did take on a different process for this project to gain what our vision and release plan may be.
1. We invited interested staff from education.au to contribute what are the different web2 systems out there and what are educators using that will help improve their online networking.
2. We went to our stakeholders, edna users and edna friends groups to see what they would want in a web 2 type service and in what priority for the tools.
3. The project team then workshopped the information gathered to put together the project requirements and vision.
This was a great way to work and we stopped after release 1 - the beta version of me.edu.au (about 8 months through the process) and went back to both groups to find out if things had changed.
Hopefully we have built a system for users that can have further tools and functions added. But also one that is useful and supports and builds networks and their professional profile.
