Thought moodlers might be interested in this para about networking. there seems to be some confusion about what a "community" hub is and how it operates. This is particularly telling; "the Community hub will create an entry for your server in its list of hosts, and may immediately begin to offer services to the users of your site." Hmmm. It MAY. From what I'm reading it don't yet.

This about gov2, which might not strike a teacher as anything of interest. But the design of edu2 and gov2 must align if we are to progress, and it's interesting to watch 'education by enquiry' replace "education by delivery", no?

This is a link to some recordings of questnet's presenters. Putting Larry Fruth with Evan Arthur was a stroke of genius. Institution vs user centric perspectives.

Tip to Moodle newbies: You can login as Guest and access these presentations. Thanks for the link Simon. Bit challenging to watch on my netbook, but I will be back.  -  Pru Mitchell

This the embrionic forum on the arcs site; not a domain that rolls off the tongue. If we have any interface designers around here would you give some thought to what classifications we might have for them. E.g. sitepoint's forums are not bad for orientating web designers. We certainly don't want the usual divisions such as "K to 12" and "higher education" as these are the kind of barriers we are trying to break down. So what "rooms"?

These are the collaboration services available to us (in Oz) at the moment. I've suggested (on the me.edu.au community page) that having me.edu.au as our SSO to them would be the way to go.

Could we see about using me.edu.au as a single sign on to arcs services?

Sorry, this is the right directory. Password is DHN2$W Getting people used to the idea that they really only need one authentication (with different levels, say staff and customer) to many domains. (.edu & .gov) is going to take some time. Also NB Their SOCS initiative. We're still thinking staff/customers (teacher/student) rather than 2 levels of authority to an all IP network, but hey! who knows about designing IP networks?
