The Garma Festival of Traditional Culture is a celebration of the cultural inheritance of the Yolngu people, the Indigenous Aboriginal Australians of NorthEast Arnhemland. The Garma ceremony has as its purpose the sharing of knowledge and culture, and the opening of hearts to the message of the land at Gukula. Cairns Indigenous Art Fair is a boutique art market for traditional and contemporary art work by Queensland Indigenous artists. The fair features a jam-packed schedule of artist talks, contemporary and traditional dance and music, children's art activities, theatre and film, as well as an opening party, exhibition and symposium.

Indigenous artists can now start working on entries for the National NAIDOC Poster Competition to reflect this year's National NAIDOC theme: Change: the next step is ours. The Poster Competition closes on Wednesday 1 April and the winning artwork attracts a $5000 prize. NAIDOC, 12 January 2011.
