New educationally relevant technologies are continually emerging and being adopted as teaching and training tools in VET including digital gaming technologies, social networking sites, online virtual worlds, and mobile learning. There are challenges to using these tools such as broadband quality and coverage, cross-sectoral relationships, network access and firewalls, e-portfolios, support for m-learning, and strategies and tools for mainstreaming e-learning.
