Flexible Learning Toolboxes are high quality, cost effective e-learning products that are provided on CD-ROM, and can be installed on a server or used on a stand-alone computer. Toolboxes are designed to support the delivery of vocational education and training (VET) qualifications from Certificate I to Diploma level. The author of this study states "This study presents a socio-political and historical review of the introduction of distance and elearning practices in Turkey and in Eastern Europe and discusses the challenges and opportunities posed by the growing presence of ICT in an increasingly globalized higher education environment. The work makes a significant contribution, in English, to the state of the art of elearning and distance education in Eastern European countries."

Scenario-based learning is supporting police and health workers to work with clients suffering from mental health, drug and alcohol issues. Two projects funded and supported by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework) have shown how e-learning is facilitating skills deepening within these vital service sectors.
Hosted by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), the event will showcase e-learning and e-technology through a series of web-conferencing presentations and short and snappy lunch-time expo sessions. Participants will hear how vocational education and training (VET) practitioners, training providers and businesses are using e-learning pedagogy, e-tools and e-technologies to develop and deliver new and flexible training options.

The open source learning management system Moodle is being widely used in the vocational education and training sector to build online courses. This presentation will use Moodle to demonstrate a course building technique that helps practitioners work around the scroll of death.

If you had time to evaluate the research on learning styles, what would you conclude? Here's what four cognitive psychologists concluded: The contrast between enormous popularity of the learning-styles approach within education and the lack of credible evidence for its utility is, in our opinion, striking and disturbing. If classification of students' learning styles has practical utility, it remains to be demonstrated.

Why create your own learning resources when there may be existing content you can simply download straight onto your computer or into your online course...lots of it for FREE! Bring a flash drive and start downloading! If it isn't 'quite right', it is often easier to customise an existing learning resource rather than have to create an entirely new one. This workshop will feature information on Toolboxes, LORN, YouTube, Slideshare, Flickr and copyright guidelines.
