The Telstra Foundation will support a program run by Goolarri Media Enterprises in Broome, Western Australia with a $563,000 grant over three years to teach local Indigenous youth digital media skills. Working with an Indigenous Goolarri mentor, students will learn to use new technology to record and broadcast stories of their cultural heritage, giving them a voice in local media, on radio, on TV and online. I am a mature age student of primary teaching at the University of New England, and will be qualified in 2011. I would like to be part of a travelling team of teachers delivering curriculum to remote and rural schools, using digital multimedia tools. I am very interested in developing new curricula based around integrated learning and digital media.
