About Me

Currently, I am exploring ways of training in mediation and facilitation work. having for several years taught literacy, communication, computers and study skills at TAFE, Sydney. I completed the Certificate in Management Communication from Ultimo TAFE in 2008, run by Wendy Zammit which inspired me to search out simpler ways to use Web2 tools to enhance the learning experience for my students. More recently I've completed the TAA training course as well as Communicating with Online Technologies course to keep up with wikis, moodles, Second Life, and everything else!

Over the past 12 years in making submissions to the Australian Government on its offshore program, Amnesty International Australia has strongly advocated refugee resettlement as a permanent solution for those in acute need of protection, and Australia's ongoing support for this principle.
Amnesty International has labeled the Australian Government's claim that proposed new laws will reinstate the Racial Discrimination Act in the Northern Territory as misleading and has found evidence required to assess the success of the Emergency Response to be woefully inadequate.
Opposition supporters, journalists and trade unionists have been arrested, harassed and recieved death threats since last weeke's presidential election.

Five men found guilty of killing Bangladesh's first president were executed in Dhaka Central Jail in the early hours of 28 January, 13 hours after the final judicial review of their sentences.
Freedom of peaceful assembly is an essential condition for the exercise of the right to freedom of expression.
After a year in office, many promises made by the Obama administration remain un-kept. The internationally condemned facility at Guantanamo Bay remains open, and many remain detained without charge or prospect of release.

Everybody - check this wonderful site out. Although it's about teaching maths to adults, it challenges our teaching. I found this most inspiring - some really good ideas. http://www.nald.ca/library/learning/mathman/mathman.pdf

Hi Rebecca-- regarding adding friends outside of edna, you can't in here -- they have to be part of the community. To add a friend, just hunt people down via interest or name, then click Add colleague under their names. Cheers! KerryJ
