Excited that the DET NSW online tools will finally launch this year after some delays (caused I think by fed/state laptop impasse? not sure why the delay when we were first told about this project 12 months ago) "The Learning Tools project will provide tools that support the ability to create, store, edit, reuse, manage, view and deliver digital learning content from collections and repositories to staff and students across NSW. It will deliver an adaptable and scalable system that will provide the latest Web 2.0 technologies to staff and students as required to enable and enrich teaching and learning practices." from http://tinyurl.com/87njep The 1.4 million user network is still a silo/walled garden, albeit a rather large one, but if it allows us to blog/wiki/collaborate with others within an acceptable 'safe' DET NSW environment, then I guess thats a start. Happy learning in 2009, enjoyed the me.edu.au video too, must post it on my other blog to help spread the word

Hi Tony I saw your message in the blogging community. I have been helping establish a primary school blog (with my Mum :) ). It has been really successful and fun so far. http://wormbins.edublogs.org/ Also Sydney Region IT Services has this podcast with some useful resources. http://podcastlane.wordpress.com/ Hope this helps a little. Also if you get to the stage of wanting to create video for your blog let me know as I've got some resources.
