Hi there! Thanks for taking a look at my profile. I'm an eduholic - can't get by without learning something and sharing it. Since my encounters with the loveable archy and Mehitabel at schMOOze University, virtual worlds have fascinated me. I spent many happy years there, taking CALD (ESL as it was then) and Adult Literacy learners through all sorts of interesting experiences in an online world. Later, when I joined RMIT University, Andrea Chester (now Dr Andrea) and I were hosted at saMOOrai at Chubu University, thanks to the kindness of Ass Prof Yoshi Awaji. The course 'Personal identity and community in cyberspace' ran for several years at saMOOrai, and helped two people get their PhDs! These days you will find me in Second Life, exploring educational applications of 3D virtual worlds. Working at Deakin Univeristy in Warrnambool and living in the country myself, I am particularly intersted in the possibilities for breaking down isolation for rural people.
